Union Launches 1st Ad Campaign to Highlight Felony Assault Bill

Press ConferenceOn July 23, 2008 on the steps of City Hall, Local 1182 made history with the announcement of the Felony Assault Bill becoming law in New York State.  Standing on the steps of City Hall was union president james Huntley and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

While Commissioner Kelly and President Huntley explained to the media what the felony bill means for Traffic Enforcement Agents a truck was parked in front of City Hall with a large billboard that explained to the citizens of New York that it’s better to strike a ticket “Not Guilty” than a Uniform Traffic Enforcement Agent.mobiletruck1

The mobile truck spent the week traveling throughtout the five boroughs of New York, stopping at TEA commands in each of the boroughs.  Along with the mobile truck the union also purchased 1/2 page ads in 28 community publications.

President Huntley also appeared on NY1 News and discussed why it took so long for the felony assault bill to become law.
