NY State Senate Passes Sanitation Felony Assault Bill

On Monday May 24, 2010, Union President James Huntley and Secretary/Treasurer Patrick Plummer where in Albany meeting with key members of the State Assembly, the State Senate led by Senator Kevin Parker voted to pass Bill S.6079 making an assault on a Uniform Sanitation Enforcement Agent a FELONY. President Huntley believes that the State Assembly will soon move the Felony Assault Bill to the floor and expects to see the Felony Assault bill signed into law sometime during the summer.
The Executive Board of CWA Local 1182 ask that you continue to contact your State Assembly representatives and inform them of how important it is to support bill A.9186 making it a FELONY to assault New York City Uniform Sanitation Enforcement Agents.
