Join Us for Our Annual Family Day @Dorney Park

Join your union brothers and sisters and their families at the annual CWA Local 1182 Family Day trip to Dorney Park on Saturday July 30, 2011.

Tickets are $50.00 for adults & $40.00 for Children under 4ft. tall.

Ticket prices include park admission, admittance to all rides plus food and beverage. Buses leave for Dorney Park at 8:00am and Leave from Dorney Park at 7:00pm

Please be advise of the bus pick up locations

Bronx – Park Avenue (between East 188th Street & East 189th Street).

Downtown Brooklyn – Jay Street (Between Tillary & Chapel Streeets).

Uptown Brooklyn – Intersection Ralph & Church Avenues.

Queens – Hillside Avenue (between 165th & 166th Streets).

Upper Manhattan – East 106th Street (Between Lexington & Park Avenues).

Midtown Manhattan – 9th Avenue (Between West 33rd & 34th Streets).

The Guardians Association 37th Annual Dinner Dance will honor our President James Huntley with the Guardians Association “Achievement Award.” The event takes place Friday March 4th at the El Caribe Country Club.

Our Condolences for Our Fallen Brother

On behalf of President James Huntley and the Executive Board of CWA Local 1182 we extend our condolences to the family of Mohammed Miha our brother from T-103 at the 107th Street NYC command who lost his life early Thursday morning in a fire.

We will provide more details on service arrangements when we receive them.

Union Fulfills Holiday Wishes for Bronx Children

Tuesday, December 21, 2010 CWA Local 1182 partnered with Astor Services to bring joy to Bronx children during the holiday season. Local 1182 held a pizza party and distributed gifts to middle school students at Astor Services for Children & Families, Bronx school.

“We are very thankful to the CWA Local Union 1182 for their continued support of our children and families throughout the year, and especially during this holiday season,” said Sonia Barnes-Moorhead, Executive Vice President, Astor Services for Children & Families: Home for Children Foundation. “I can’t tell you what a difference their support of our children makes, especially when many of our children may not receive gifts this holiday season. It’s just not about the gifts our children receive but its knowing that there are individuals out there that care enough about them that makes what the CWA gives so priceless!”

In its third year, this annual event has been instrumental in bringing joy and cheer to many children in the Bronx area. “ We are excited about being able to fulfill wishes for many deserving children in the New York area this holiday season,” said James Huntley, President of CWA Local 1182.

Join President Huntley and the men of the Executive Board of CWA Local 1182 for an impact day.

The conference begins at 1pm at 6 Harrison Street, the union hall of Local 1180.

The Women’s Conference will take place on October 2, 2010 at 6 Harrison Street, the union hall of Local 1180. The conference begins at 1pm.

Felony Assault Bill is now LAW for Sanitation Enforcement Agents

Today August 16, 2010 Governor Patterson signed into law A.9186 and S.6079 the Felony Assault Bill making it a felony punishable for up to 7 years for assaulting a Uniform New York City Sanitation Enforcement Agent.

On behalf of President James Huntley and the Executive Board we ask that you contact your local state representatives and thank them for their support of the important legislation.

Please Call Governor Patterson and Ask Him To Sign The Felony Assault Bill

Good Day Members:

You have all worked hard to get the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate members to pass the Felony Assault Bill. We have one last hurdle that I’m asking you to assist us with and that is to call Governor Patterson at 518-474-8390 and ask him to sign Bill #A.9186B and S.6079B into law.

Please make the call today so that all of our brothers and sisters can enjoy the freedom to safely perform their work under the protection of a Felony Assault Law.
