You have all worked hard to get the New York  State Assembly and New York State Senate members to pass the Felony Assault Bill. We have one last hurdle that I’m asking you to assist us with and that is to call Governor Patterson at 518-474-8390 and ask him to sign Bill #A.9186B and S.6079B into law.

Please make the call today so that all of our brothers and sisters can enjoy the freedom to safely perform their work under the protection of a Felony Assault Law.

On Tuesday April 13, 2010 2 buses of  your brothers and sisters from Sanitation and Traffic Enforcement visited Albany to talk with politicians and explain why members of the Senate and Assembly should support the Felony Assault Bill for Sanitation Agents.

We have photos from the day and video of Senator Kevin Parker who is the sponsor of the Bill in the Senate deliver a Proclamation for Sanitation Enforcement Agents. State Senator Eric Adams also addressed the members of CWA Local 1182.

Inform our NY State politicians that NYC Uniform Sanitation Enforcement Agents Deserve the SAME PROTECTION as other Uniform Enforcement Agents.

Musical entertainment was provided by the World Famous DJ team of Teddy Ted and Special K.

The musical guest for the evening was Ms. Honey LaRochelle

We also had a special performance from HBO DefJam comedy artist A.G. White who had all of the guests laughing out loud (LOL).

The tour provides a vehicle whereby high school students can receive the opportunity to discover an educational community outside of their own.

The tour encourages students to consider attending a HBCU and guides students on how to seek financial assistance.

To Qualify for the Union Sponsorship you must meet the following:

* The attending student must be a child of a CWA Local 1182 union member.

* The attending child must live in the home with the union parent.

* The attending student must be currently attending an accredited High School.
