June 17, 2010 The State Assembly passed the Uniform Sanitation Enforcement Agents Felony Assault Bill. The next stop for the bill is Governor David Patterson’s desk for signature making it a FELONY to assault any member of CWA Local 1182.

On Monday May 24, 2010, Union President James Huntley and Secretary/Treasurer Patrick Plummer where in Albany meeting with key members of the State Assembly, the State Senate led by Senator Kevin Parker voted to pass Bill S.6079 making an assault on a Uniform Sanitation Enforcement Agent a FELONY. On Saturday May 22, 2010 Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly addressed the members of Local 1182. He thanked the members for their excellence to service and reminded the members about how important their services are to the functioning of this city.
After Commissioner Kelly’s address president James Huntley presented the Commissioner with a plaque and thanked him for his his service to the members of CWA Local 1182. You can watch the video of Commissioner Kelly’s speech and the awards presentation below.
